The Panasonic ES-LA63-S is without a doubt a step forward from the previous generation of Panasonic electric razors. It’s manufactured in Japan, some of the lower end models being made in China. The blades seem to be slightly more powerful and the shave is a bit closer. The curve present in the “Arc” foils seem to have an advantage compared to the straight foil technology. It doesn’t include a cleaning system, but the truth is, it’s so easy to clean you don’t even need it. Just hold it under running warm tap water using a bit of liquid or bar soap and you should be fine.
The razor features a trimmer that will help you take care of your sideburns, which is working pretty well, a travel case and a charging cord. A full charge provides about 40-45 minutes of shaving time. The blue backlit lcd screen will tell you how much charge is remaining, for how long you’ve been shaving and when to it needs cleaning.
A big advantage of this generation of Panasonic electric razors is the fact that you can use them wet or dry. The Panasonic ES-LA63-S will deliver the best shave, according to my experience, when you use a shaving oil, warm water and a shaving cream. The shaving oil will lubricate the blades and together with warm water and shaving cream, your shaving experience will be something that will stand out.
For maximum performance I suggest you clean your razor after every shave. This will not take more than a minute. Remove the foil from the top of the razor and wash the foil and cutting blades with soap and warm water. Leave it on a paper towel to air dry. If you maintain it the right way it will last for a long time. How shaving is a daily, or almost daily routine for most men, in the long run, the Panasonic ES-LA63-S will ultimately save you money.
